In Poland, iodine deficiency is in almost 90% of the country, and thyroid gland diseases are caused by eight million people in Poland.
According to the World Health Organization, more than 35% of the population is suffering from the lack of iodine in the body. More than 600 million are ill on goitre, through thyroid disfunction. 1.5 billion people live in areas most affected by the deficit of this element. In Poland, disruption of the thyroid gland is found in almost 90% of the country (10% are coastal areas, which are considered to be the richest in iodine, there are 8 million inhabitants of Poland under the threat of the thyroid gland). There are many women and children with this component alone. Of the five components necessary in the period of pregnancy, everything starts very insignificantly – fatigue, lack of energy, headache, apathy, lowering of body temperature. Throughout, these seemingly innocuous symptoms begin to give way to more gray. We are sick more often, the metabolism slows down, the respiratory system becomes swollen. Iodine is one of the most important micronutrients supplied to the human body with food, iodine is absolutely necessary for the health of the thyroid gland, as well as for healthy ovaries, breast and prostatę. In addition to the increased risk of developing breast cancer in women due to iodine deficiency, there is evidence that iodine deficiency increases the risk of developing thyroid cancer.
In the era of increased exposure to toxic substances, we need, of course, more iodine because it has an effective influence, unlike conventional poisons such as fluoride, bromine and to a lesser extent helps in eliminating lead and mercury from the body. Iodine is an important antioxidant with anti-cancer and anti-atherosclerotic effects. When we supply iodine supplements to the body, we see that the antioxidant activity increases and the activity of the immune system increases as well. Iodine is responsible for the proper functioning of the thyroid gland. This gland, because of the body’s ability to accumulate iodine, can produce the so-called thyroid hormones: thyroxine and triiodothyronine, which in turn determine almost all the processes that occur in our body.
These processes are responsible for the proper functioning of the nervous system, musculature, cardiovascular system, affect the metabolism in the body, growth and intellectual development. Iodine deficiency can damage your health. Its deficiency contributes to the formation of the will or hyperplasia of the thyroid gland, causes hypothyroidism. This is a very serious illness, especially when it concerns children and pregnant women. Hypothyroidism in children often leads to mental retardation and inhibition of growth. Pregnant women are taken to the risk of their health, as well as their child because the deficit in extreme cases can lead to miscarriage. Typical symptoms of deficiency are: drowsiness, lack of energy, high cholesterol, problems with metabolism, resistance to fighting stress, dry, dropping hair, wry problems, brittle nails. Due to the lack of this element in the body, too much weight increases or there is no weight loss effect at all. The positive effect of iodine on mental and physical health and beauty should convince us that it must be in the forefront of the bioelements that we supply to our bodies. Iodine is absorbed from food to digestive tract, from there it goes to the blood and further to the thyroid gland.
One of the most important tasks is the control of thyroid hormones, a violation of their activity can lead to hyper- or hypothyroidism. This is very dangerous especially for pregnant women because in the end it threatens miscarriage or lichomancer, which are very dangerous for the health of the mother and the child.
Hyperteriosis for expectant mothers later threatens to the delay of the intrauterine development of the embryo and increases the risk of premature rupture of the membrane. At the same time, hypothyroidism can lead to premature placenta laceration or irreversible damage to the child’s brain. Deficiency of iodine slows down the physical and mental reactions of a person, which subsequently causes problems with memory, concentration or general weakness of the body. This chemical element has a significant effect on the effective work of other endocrine glands, more difficult treatment of anemia, weakness and degeneration of muscles and joints.
The main symptoms of iodine deficiency include:
- an increase in the thyroid gland (goitre endemic);
- a feeling of constant fatigue;
- bad feeling;
- the dryness of the skin;
- ulnar and elbow keratosis;
- unreasonable anxiety, depression;
- a nap;
- problems with pamyat’yu, concentration;
- increase in cholesterol;
- decreased body temperature;
- frequent headaches.
Iodine labile group.
The consequences of iodine deficiency are most aggravated by pregnant women and nursing mothers in whom the demand for this element increases by about 15% compared to the period before pregnancy. The reason for this is the increased production of the gland hormones responsible for cell division, as well as the regulation of the growth, skeleton and development of the child’s brain. Iodine deficiency, and what follows, a disorder in the thyroid gland can very badly affect the proper development of the fetus, as well as the regulation of the growth, skeleton and development of the child’s brain.
In extreme cases, this can lead to hypothyroidism, resulting in a child’s handicap, including poor hearing syndrome, speech disorder, or movement disorders. Previous studies, carried out examinations from the United States, show that the children of women who received additional iodine supplements during the period of pregnancy and breastfeeding received an 8% higher rate of intellectual development than women with deficiency. It is not without reason that iodine is an element that is responsible not only for the overall development of the child, but primarily for its mental development in the next stages.
Iodine has a very positive effect on the nervous system of the child, which for the appropriate development from the second week of life of the embryo needs two hormones of the thyroid gland-T3 and T4, which supplies the placenta.
The thyroid gland produces its own hormones from the twelfth week of pregnancy. Therefore, it is the mother that is the source of these hormones from the moment of conception to the 12th week of pregnancy.
- respiratory tract diseases: asthma, chronic bronchitis and chronic inflammation of the lungs, pneumoconiosis, bouts of shortness of breath or choking, persistent cough, allergy;
- respiratory diseases: allergic diseases of the nose and sinuses, chronic sinusitis and sore throat;
- dermatological diseases, such as: eczema, psoriasis, allergies, dermatitis, acne;
- neuroses, a state of fatigue, an underestimated resistance to stress;
- eliminates the unpleasant odor of sweat.
- improves metabolism, accelerates fat burning and reduces signs of cellulite, restores its own protective mechanisms of the body;
- prevents respiratory infections, influenza, hay fever;
- a contraindication is hyperactivity of the thyroid gland, cancer and allergy to any of the ingredients in particular iodine or bromine.
IODINE HELPS IN TREATMENT OF:
- diseases of the musculoskeletal system, rheumatoid diseases, rheumatism, osteoarthritis, diseases associated with increased muscular tension, orthopedic diseases);
- diseases associated with circulatory disorders (atherosclerotic origin or from trauma);
- neurological diseases (seborrheic dermatitis, psoriasis);
- diseases associated with immunodeficiency;
- has a beneficial effect on beauty.
- Improvement of cellular metabolism and rapid removal of toxins from the body;
- improvement of skin hydration and blood supply;
- improved skin tightening:
- weight loss – acceleration of fat burning;
- improves blood flow in the legs;
- eliminates the edema of the body;
- decreased sweating.
Kariba Ekken, the mystic from the 17th century, said: “If you want to achieve the spiritual peace, you first need to settle your breathe. If it is controlled, the heart calms down. It will soften your disposition and your mind. Proper rest is part of the yoga tactic. Meanwhile, our way of life and low level of physical activity cause unfavorable changes in breathing habits. And yet rest is the most important function of the body. Everything else depends on it.
